Day 33: Journal Volume l -Don’t Be Afraid to Live
Today’s RJL meditation is about not being afraid to live by taking a positive risk in some area of our lives. Not only with hopes & dreams, but with things that make us uncomfortable –like reaching out to someone different or… letting someone in. This is how we make new friends and build relationships. We don’t have to know the outcome we just do the footwork, the rest in our Higher Power’s hands.
In recovery, we move out of our comfort zone on a daily basis, our lives depend on this action. Some of us who live & work the 12-steps know that Step 10 guides us to look at the day that just occurred or the last 24 hours and check our–self so we don’t have to stay stuck in something.
Heading into my day, now –I’m reminded of the old saying, “to spite my face to save my ass,” I’ll move out of my comfort zone and notice the other people around me. I’ll be open to my Higher Power’s direction today, even though I don’t know how it will show up, I will look for it. You can look for it too, it will probably be in what makes you feel uncomfortable.
