Day Four: Trusting God is Always There

Updated: Jan 4

đź“•RecoveryJournals.org creates "Our Story" together a page a day.

Start journaling the book series that promotes better thinking by you writing the other half.

Todays recovery meditation is about recognizing that some type of relationship has always been there.

*This is the Excerpt from my book-series, “I didn’t ask to think this way, I just do...” that I am relating to. Book l Visuals, p.15, Recovery Journal Volume l, p.14.

"Day Four: Trusting God is Always There As a little girl, I cried all over Your Books, God, as I sought refuge from the terror wreaking havoc on my world. I asked You, over and over, to keep me safe. As a woman now, I marvel at the absolutely awesome relationship we have, God. You have shown me how to be with You through all that comes my way, and boy, have terror and triumph had their turns in my life.

I’ll keep asking You God, to keep me safe because I don’t understand the twists and turns. I only understand they cannot -not come. Same as You cannot -not be with me.

For it is I who believes You are not somewhere. And You, are God and You, are everywhere."

Before I faced the horrors of addiction -there was the living nightmares of childhood, that I choose to learn from and let strengthen my walk. I make a conscious effort to not pass on destruction. My mother was a mentally ill person, that was obvious to all, no one near her escaped her reach.

However-no matter how scared, beaten, or tormented -I learned to call out to my Higher Power for safety then and Now. Right Now, whatever’s at my door I do not face it Scared or Alone! God Hears and so do people!

In this meditation Step 4 shows us our patterns of behaviors, some of them patterns reveal a strength that solidifies our foundation in Step 11, through simple prayer -talking to our Higher Power, and meditation -listening with the heart, that produces better actions.

All of the above helps us to find Serenity today, Serenity now.
