Sponsors, Mentors, Spiritual Gurus, Clergy, etc....

In the mid 90's my sponsor, Dorothy from Bucks County, Pennsylvania was very patient with me, I may have been a bit wild. Some things change -some things don't. She took a train ride to New York City with me, so I could to show some people a screen play I had recently wrote called, "Death Warrant" and to hold a boom box while I performed a skit to the song "Teenage Wasteland" from the rock band, The Who, that I had written in high school. On the train ride up we where going over some step work and she noticed that I kept putting other writings on the pages. She said they were good and that I should write a book. The New York thing turned out to be a door I wasn't ready to go through, but Dorothy and I bonded. I would later read her several pages of the book she suggested I write, at her bedside, as she lay silent during the last days she spent on this earth. I took her suggestion and followed through with action and will continue to do so. People are here to guide us they come in all shapes and sizes, the point is -to let someone trustworthy take that position on whatever road we are on. As Led Zeppelin sang, "Yes there are two paths you can by, but in the long run there's still time to change the road your on." I am grateful my Higher Power worked through Dorothy to help me stay on the road of recovery.
