Today’s RJL meditation is about losing sight of what is in front of us because we are trying to fix what we think is wrong with us –or wrong with someone else.

Day Twenty-Two: Loving the Whole Shebang There are some things in us that we constantly look to improve because it is not what we want. We bend every possible way to show we are looking for change, that is why we always seem to stay in trauma longer than necessary. Because we’ve accepted we need improvement, all the while forgetting that we need to accept that at times we choose twisted up crap.

We learn to love the whole package we call, me. This is not saying it’s okay to be stuck-on-stupid. It’s saying, you can’t move away from something that is running an endless cycle, until you realize and take responsibility for it, by looking at it square in the face and saying, “Yeah, this is me too, on any given day.” Ironically, now today can be a better day.

Human beings make mistakes, we are a package deal. This does not excuse our behavior –we will get the chance to make amends later, in God’s time. Excessive dwelling on our wrongs doesn’t help anything but our doom and gloom -to get deeper. Acceptance of ourselves leads the way to being restored to sanity. We take the step to begin loving ourselves and others like this: by making better choices now. It is not complicated. We can’t change the past, but we do not have to repeat it.

As my day arrives now –I’ll remember that I care about the life happening around me, I don’t want to hurt others or myself. I accept myself and all my baggage and I choose to affect life around me with some laughter, love, & an ear to listen to people -when needed. You can choose to do the same. That’s loving the whole Shebang.

Focus today's recovery meditation on Step Two -We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

Step two helps us find acceptance to be in our own skin and gives us hope that we are going to be okay no matter what. We are coming to believe that what helps others can help us -the restoration is in progress.
