Day 23: Journal Volume l Humble Yourself, to See Better

📕RecoveryJournals.org creates "Our Story" together a page a day.

Start journaling the unique book series that makes you an author and promotes better thinking by you writing the other half.

Hang out with us as we show the recovery life mixing in today’s world in a variety of ways with supportive social media and our website.

Today’s Recovery Journal Meditation is about asking our Higher Power for guidance and then utilizing our answered prayers. We don't just sit in our stuff day in and day out. We move our body and take action in a better direction. We get with some positive people -they are God's hands. It is our job to find them. A good place to look is a support group or cause that matches your dilemma.

**Below is the Excerpt from my book-series, “I didn’t ask to think this way, I just do...” that I am relating to. Book I Visuals, page 34 Volume l, page 56.

Day Twenty-Three Humble Yourself, to See Better

Does someone have to beat you over the head to get you to take the help you’ve been asking for? I mean don’t you hear God or see the white flag waving for your attention, telling you to stop asking and start taking what is already there?

We can see so much better, when we voluntarily humble ourselves concerning the matters at hand. Doing this also plants our feet on solid ground. It’s up to you to process the information you’ve been given in a way that works for you. Or did you want someone to do it for you? Just saying, life is very good at doing this, humbling thing for us, when we do not comply. It is up to you to take the help, and use what you have been given to make some kind of difference in your life, and hopefully someone else’s too.

Sometimes we don’t recognize our answered prayers because they are in a form that requires some work on our part or… -they are in some way stopping us in our tracks –and we are “attitudish”. We all know by now that Higher Power has quite the sense of humor, in HP’s display of answered prayer and help.

Recovery affords us the opportunity to see where our feet are planted. Where are your feet, right now? Some of us in 12-step programs use what we call the steps, particularly this one called the 7th step, -to enrich our vision of hope & to give us spring in our step forward. Try on some humility by taking a moment to look at what is nagging at you and notice if there are solutions in front of you -that you keep looking over or discounting because you want a different answer. Do something with what you see, -solutions are answered prayers! God's solutions are the opposite of the shortcoming we may be stuck living in. We learn to walk the walk and do the work -not just talk a good game.

Walking into my day now, I will remember to reach for God's spiritual principles of humility and hope, instead of destruction and misery. I will utilize the answered prayers by making the sincere effort to be a decent person to you and to my -self. You can choose to do this too.

The focus of today's recovery meditation is Step Seven -We humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
