Today’s recovery meditation is about breaking free of self-made prisons that hold us back from living mentally-free, in the here and now. Breaking out can be scary –what will life be like without this weight? Sometimes we think it will be worse so we don’t want to change. Some will never know. Some will. Which one are you today?
In recovery, we get knocked out of our comfort zone. How? We hear others talk about situations that mirror “similars” in our own lives. We see them doing something about it. This causes us to question –how am I living? We then ask our-self, do I really want what I got -followed by what do I have to do to change this situation? Then we a small step and do something, like talk to a trusted friend, a sponsor, an advisor, a mentor, a sibling, -someone sensible.
