Day 59: Journal Volume l -Embracing My Whole Self
Today’s recovery journal meditation is about accepting that we do not have to be perfect -the whole package is called “me” not just the good parts.
*This is the Excerpt from my book-series, “I didn’t ask to think this way, I just do...” that I am relating to. Book l Visuals, p.70, Recovery Journal Volume l, p.138.
“Day Fifty-Nine -Embracing My Whole Self
As I went through the years and experienced many facets of myself in life’s dealings, I came across my worst enemy on the most ordinary day. As I passed my reflection I caught a glimpse of her looking at me, and felt her mentally sending abusive thoughts that I wouldn’t take from any other. I stopped in my tracks. Realizing that for years, I have allowed this to go on. I took a step back, looked inward and saw my heart. I slowly raised my eyes to a level stare, then I thought a thousand emotions in one. Shattering that mindset, making today the day I face my reflection and embrace it, embracing all of me.
For though at times, I am my own worst enemy, the reflection is still a part of me. I will not run from or ignore my enemy, because it is only me. In today’s world of mirrors, with sincere effort, we are capable of looking at ourselves as we are, without the mental baggage.”
