Hang out with us as we show the recovery life mixing in today’s world in a variety of ways with supportive social media and our website.

Today’s Recovery Journal Meditation is about learning to be okay in our own skin. It’s about letting go of negative self-talk that tells us to fight against having a lousy day.

*This is the Excerpt from my book-series, “I didn’t ask to think this way, I just do...” that I am relating to. Book l Visuals, p.26, Recovery Journal Volume l, p.38

Day Fifteen: It’s Okay to Just Be you Not every day am I going to be okay with or feel okay, with what my day is bringing. God help me see that I don’t have to be. I don’t want to wear a pretend face anymore, I just want to be me. Teach me, that it is okay to have preferences and that I don’t have to like what the day presents or have to fake being a happy-go-lucky person, that is always feeling okay because I don’t always. Today, we do not have to go off the deep-end, because we are feeling some kind of way. Some people call this waking up on the wrong side of the bed. We can call it, being the real me and simply live the day as it is. This is just a part of life. It’s okay, you can just be you and live to your Highest level today, whatever level that actually is. We all have days when we are feeling some kind of way, no one escapes both sides of the coin."

Today is also about not treating others rudely because we feel like crap. We have bad days & then we have good days, -that we appreciate. Today I face the world with respect no matter how I feel. Yesterday 90% of my day was spent with an intense migraine, remnants from an eye & head injury, –I functioned respectfully anyway –& right now, it’s gone. The bad day passed. -As I ease into this day I’ll smile more today because I want to, and simply because I like how a smile feels.

Focus todays Meditation on Step 7 -We humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

Step Seven helps us to not continuously act out on a defect, a flaw (Step 6) -there is something we can do when we are coming up short (Step 7) of living better today. We are real people who don't have pretend and put on a show. We sincerely say, It's still okay to be me whatever that is, -God help me to treat others respectfully no matter what, and help me do the next right thing. Humility and acceptance plants our feet on solid ground along with its friends surrender, faith, hope, & patience. In God's time we are refined, not ours -we just commit to willingness to be changed.

Homework: At some point take 5-minutes & Google Step Seven and gain a little more insight about it.
