Day One -Gratitude for People

Take a *FREE daily-walk & Journal thru my book-series with me.

📕Todays recovery journal meditation is about finally connecting with society by realizing I can't do this thing called life without you.

*This is the Excerpt from my book-series, “I didn’t ask to think this way, I just do...” that I am relating to. Book l Visuals, p.12, Recovery Journal Volume l, p.8.

"Day One -Gratitude for People

"I opened this book to an empty page and then I thought of you, the other people on this spinning world. I could not leave it empty. For every day, you have helped me to not have empty meaning to my existence.

To you I say, “you are the best thing that ever happened to me and the hardest thing for me to love without condition,” though I am not ever giving up hope that this is possible for me."

Relating to the meditation today, brings to mind the first step -being powerless over people, places, and things. Trying to control life around me stresses me out. I can not control what is going on around me, everybody is choosing something. Trying to control things will come out sideways by me having a miserable day if I don't admit I can't change the world; -but I can change me. I admit that I am powerless over you and that I am powerless over having problems. Admitting this actually gives me power to be part of a solution by not judging people. Instead I choose to find a simple way to show I care.

Here are two ways to practice powerlessness and show that we care -even when agitated :

1. We don't have to give people a hard time. (Let go of control -micromanaging)

2. We can listen attentively to what people have to say -without trying to fix anything

(Let people be who they are).
