Day 46: Journal Volume l -Continue to Grow
📕 Take a *Free Daily Walk* & Journal thru my book-series w/Me-Now
Today’s recovery meditation that I am relating to is from, “I didn’t ask to think this way, I just do…”. Book I Visuals, p.57. It is about growing by listening to other people's views on life and expanding on that concept to the world around us. It prevents close-mindedness, being part of a clique, and gossiping.
In recovery, we are taught by example to appreciate each other’s differences. We are shown how to sit a minute and listen to another’s point of view without interruption and we are given the same respect. This allows us to learn from one another and have friends in places we would never have imagined, -had we stuck to our old way of thinking. Is your circle still growing?
As the day is rising now, I am reminded to pay attention to you. I have no idea who will cross my path, but I will make the effort to be present mentally. I will remember not to speak negatively about people, meaning I won’t gossip or allow someone to gossip to me. I will be conscious not to be cliquish, or unfriendly, - I want my circle to keep growing. We don’t have to like everybody, but we do need to be respectful to all people in order to grow. You too -can grow your circle with respect this way. If you choose too. Choose too.
